Faux Pas

I walk into work yesterday with my Gold Peak tea under my arm [ I brew my own tea then refill the old bottle]. The temp worker runs up to me and tells me that I'm needed in the office,a as she takes me by the arm. My first thought was "I'm getting fired."

It turns out that my boss had brought some Gold Peak tea in the same bottle that I usually use, and of course I drank it. You know, sometimes my memory plays tricks on me, and I thought that I had left it in the refrigerator. You don't want tea to go bad either. It can really mess up your GI tract. Plus, as an old kitchen manager, you gotta use the First In, First Out rule.

She was way cool with the whole situation, and even told me that she noticed the same type of tea, and wondered if I might drink it by mistake. We had a good laugh, and I offered my tea, but she declined.

Anyways, guess who is getting a new bottle of tea today, with their name on it? You've got one guess...

  1. I can't stand the Gold Peak at all. I used to really like the old Lipton in the glass bottles but when they switched to plastic it tasted like ass. I then settled for the snapple regular sweetened but again they switched to cans and it tasted like ass. I now settle for the Arizona stuff in cans and it's not too bad as long as it's COLD. I have tried brewing my own to put in a bottle but it tastes different in them.

    1. Glass for any liquid is always soooo much better. Finding a good unsweetened tea is always a challenge. The Gold peak uses a little citric acid as a preservative, whereas the sweetened versions can use a lot of sugar as the preservative.

I'll brew tea first thing along with the coffee, and by the time I'm ready to head out to work the tea is ready to be put into an old Gold Peak Tea bottle...saves money!
