Our agent tells us that the sellers have agreed to fix all of the requested items on our repair list. The house will not be completely repaired from the findings from the house inspection, but all of the expensive repairs and those that I am not able to do will be fixed before closing. This is great news as we were expecting some resistance in fixing the Wood Burning fireplace gas line and chimney cap.
I'll have to go back and make sure all of the repairs are satisfactory.

Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief!!
ReplyDelete@ Keads and MM - Yes, it has gone surprisingly well. I think part of it has to do with a previous offer fell through, and this is the first real offer they have had on it in over a year of off/on the market action.
DeleteCongrats on getting the sellers to agree to the repairs. I know what it was like selling my mom's house. My brother and I got all of them done, and had to sub-out one electrical hit on the report. Sellers are willing to compromise when they want it sold.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, K. Congratulations!
ReplyDelete@ Senior & LindaG - thanks, the stress really begins with the payments.
DeleteWell gratz on the new place then. Would they have come down and maybe cut the cost enough for you to do them yourself?
ReplyDeleteI'll let the electrician handle the electrical and the plumber handle the gas line. The stuff that I'm comfortable with doing, I'm doing them. They dropped the price quite a bit from the original price by 11K plus doing repairs. I'm getting a deal, and it's still a buyers market...it will be for a long time.
