Getting Real

It really hit home today that I have a new career. As I was making a hard copy of my phone contacts, I deleted all of my food service contact numbers.

And some Friday the 13th fun....
  • Power went out at work, and luckily no one was in the scanner. We had to reschedule 3 patients to next week so we lost our $100 weekly challenge bonus.
  • My evening front office co-worker got fired today.
  • A patient took a dump in one of the dressing rooms, then stole the scrubs she was wearing. Crackhead. I got to clean it up (oh joy).
Still better than working in the restaurant industry though!

  1. I don't think they could put enough Valium in me to get me back into an MRI if I got trapped in one with the power out....

  2. There are two emergency release buttons on the side of the sliding table that will allow the technologist to remove the patient from the machine. The big problem with the power going down is that the last sequence is usually lost, and it takes about 15 minutes for a hard reboot of the computer system.

  3. Patient took a dump in the dressing room huh? Sounds an awful lot like the ER in clinic? Or you know... the ER where I work haha.

    1. Nothing as bad as your first day of clinic!
