A Trucker's Solution to Self-defense

A deceased friend of mine was an interstate truck driver for a few years, and liked to be on the winning side of any fight. The rules and regulations, plus the many states that he had to travel through required him to leave his handgun at home. He, and other truckers, have starting carrying wasp and bug spray. You know, the kind that can reach 20+ foot as a steady stream. Just food for thought...

  1. I buy bear spray in the big cans for my daughter. The wasp spray is a good idea though, cheap and with a long range on it. Then, once you have immobilized the attacker, you can beat him to death with a rock! Saves the cost of a cartridge, ammo is high these days! ;-)

    1. A bag of lime and a shovel would come in helpful too.

  2. A can of wasp spray and a bic lighter will get someone's attention very quickly.

  3. Can definitely blind someone that way, I expect. Good enough to get away if nothing else. Great tip!

  4. WRONG WRONG WRONG. They do not carry bug spray for defensive purposes. That would be highly illegal if they ever used it. They carry it because wasps attach themselves to trailers and such that are stored outdoors and interstate drivers have a moral obligation to not spread vermin from state to state. It's a purely practical thing. Like that club they use to check tire pressure. Gotta be carefully or people start tossing words around pre-meditated and malicious maiming.

    1. I can see your point. If he wasn't dead, I'd spray him in the eyes and check his tire pressure!
