Opinions Needed On Books

A few days ago, Mrs. Frugal living on the Watkins ranch (Link to her blog) posted a comment that one of her books that she recommended was survival medicine handbook by Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy. I also encourage you look look at her series on 300 a month challenge.

The Doctor Bones and Nurse Amy book is on my wishlist, and that got me to thinking. Scary idea, right? What books would you consider essential in a SHTF situation. I'll go through my list:
  1. The Bible, which I'll need to be reading a lot more.
  2. Ball Canning Guide.
  3. Seed to Seed: Seed Saving and Growing Techniques for Vegetable Gardeners.
  4. Sun Tzu: The Art of War.
  5. Calendar (moon phases and Almanac)
  6. Personal Binder with frequently looked up items such as: how many crop rows per person and other trivial information.
These are just a few off the top of my head. What are some of your books that you would recommend for a prepper's collection?

  1. Carla Emery 's Encyclopedia of Country Living is one of my go-to books for homesteading skills. It covers many important subjects in fair depth.
